By using MEPMate, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.
MEPMate is operated from India and complies with the Information Technology Act 2000 and its amendments, as well as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Union.
We collect two categories of data: information you provide directly, and information collected automatically.

We store IP addresses in hashed form only (SHA-256 with daily salt) for page view analytics. We never store raw IP addresses in our database. Hashed IPs cannot be reversed to identify you.

MEPMate uses Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. These ads help us keep our calculators free for everyone.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the
_gadscookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. - Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to our site or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
- MEPMate does not control the content of advertisements served by Google AdSense.
Calculator results on MEPMate are never influenced by advertisers. All calculations are purely based on engineering standards and the inputs you provide.
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use MEPMate. This helps us improve the platform and prioritise new calculators.
- Google Analytics collects data including pages viewed, session duration, device type, and approximate geographic location (country/city level).
- We have enabled IP anonymisation — your full IP address is never shared with Google Analytics.
- We do not use Google Analytics Remarketing or cross-site tracking features.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Analytics data is retained for 14 months and then automatically deleted by Google.
Your data is stored on servers hosted by Hostinger, operating in data centres compliant with ISO/IEC 27001. We implement the following security measures:
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2/1.3 (HTTPS).
- Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes — we never store plaintext passwords.
- IP addresses are SHA-256 hashed with a daily salt before storage.
- Session tokens are regenerated on login to prevent session fixation.
- Database access is restricted to application-layer only, with no public access.
- Regular automated backups are maintained.
Payment processing is handled entirely by Razorpay. MEPMate never stores your card numbers, CVVs, or banking credentials. We only retain the Razorpay payment reference ID.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Google Analytics / AdSense — as described above under their respective policies.
- Razorpay — for payment processing. Subject to Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
- Legal obligation — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights of MEPMate or its users.
- Business transfer — in the event of a merger or acquisition, data may be transferred to the successor entity.
Depending on your location, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of Access — Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to Erasure — Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Right to Portability — Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to Object — Object to processing of your data for direct marketing.
- Right to Withdraw Consent — Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
Indian users are also protected under the Information Technology (Amendment) Act 2008 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA).

MEPMate is intended for use by engineering professionals and students aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of MEPMate after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
