Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MEPMate.com ("the Platform"), operated by MEPMate ("we", "us", "our"). By using MEPMate, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you are using MEPMate on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

MEPMate provides online engineering calculators for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineering purposes. The service is provided "as is" for preliminary design and estimation purposes.

Permitted uses:

• Using calculators for professional engineering estimation and preliminary design.
• Saving calculation results to your account for reference (subject to plan limits).
• Sharing results via PDF export for internal team use.
• Using the platform for educational purposes.

Prohibited uses:

• Using MEPMate results as the sole basis for construction or installation without independent professional verification.
• Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the platform.
• Using the platform to distribute spam, malware, or other harmful content.
• Attempting to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data.
• Using automated bots or scripts to access the platform without prior written consent.
• Reselling or sublicensing access to MEPMate calculators.

While we strive for accuracy in our calculations, MEPMate makes no warranty — express or implied — that calculator results are accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. Factors that may affect accuracy include:

• Site-specific conditions not captured by generalised calculators.
• Updates to Indian Standards (IS codes), NBC, or international standards such as ASHRAE, IEC, or BS.
• Interpretation of standards by local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
• User input errors or incorrect assumptions.
• Rounding and numerical approximations inherent in digital calculation.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MEPMate and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Any loss or damage arising from reliance on calculator results.
• Engineering errors, design failures, structural deficiencies, or safety hazards resulting from use of our tools.
• Financial loss, loss of business, or consequential damages of any kind.
• Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the data or formulas used in our calculators.
• Service interruptions, downtime, or data loss.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or INR 1,000 if you have not paid us anything).

As a user of MEPMate, you are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• Ensuring all inputs you provide to calculators are accurate and appropriate.
• Obtaining independent professional verification of all results before use in any project.
• Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
• Not sharing your account with others (one account per user).
• Promptly notifying us if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

You agree that MEPMate is a tool to assist — not replace — the judgement of qualified MEP professionals.

• Billing: Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout. Prices are in INR and are inclusive of applicable taxes.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain Pro access until then.
• Price changes: We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
• Downgrade: On cancellation or expiry, your account reverts to the Free plan. Saved calculations exceeding Free plan limits become read-only (not deleted).
• Refunds: Subject to our Refund Policy. A 7-day refund window applies to first-time Pro purchases.

All content on MEPMate — including but not limited to calculator algorithms, UI design, branding, written content, formulas, and code — is the intellectual property of MEPMate and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

• You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any MEPMate content without explicit written permission.
• Engineering standards referenced (IS codes, ASHRAE, IEC, etc.) are the property of their respective standards bodies. MEPMate's implementations are original.
• You retain ownership of the data you input into our calculators. By saving calculations, you grant MEPMate a limited licence to store and display that data to you.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time from your profile settings. On termination, your saved data will be deleted within 30 days.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India. We encourage users to contact us first to resolve disputes amicably before initiating legal proceedings.

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of MEPMate after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
